This is a phrase that most of you out there are probably familiar with. For those of you that don't need coffee to survive the day... Bless you! I am a full pot kinda girl in the morning, soooo when it came time to decorate our new kitchen all I cared about was where are we going to put my coffee maker. Our new house is small and finding the perfect spot was going to be a challenge but I was determined. I remember standing in the empty kitchen looking around when {lights going off in my head} I saw it. I didn't need counter space I need to create a COFFEE STATION. I decided I would use one of my old antique family pieces to be the base station. It was the perfect size to fit my coffee maker and three canisters that hold coffee and sugar. Then I decided I would take a piece that I got from Hobby Lobby and place it above the station. I absolutely love this piece and I would buy 10 of them to put in every room if my husband would let me;) Anyways, this piece holds additional coffee, filters and tea. I added a few accent pieces to the top shelf, two lanterns on either side and voila... Coffee Station.
I know it sounds silly but this station was the center of the kitchen design and it is the first thing you see if you enter the house from the garage. It gives our small house character and makes me feel like I am at a coffee shop in the morning as I prepare my coffee. As for all you DIYers out there you could use any piece of furniture along with the shelf to create your own coffee station and I would love to hear your results.
Happy Crafting!
