I have always known since the day I met my husband that I was one lucky girl. It wasn't until 9 years later that I realized just how lucky I am. Almost 4 months ago our daughter came into our lives and changed us forever. A little back story on us... I am an Insurance Agent for a company in Atlanta and he is the owner of Trinity Pool Management- servicing metro Atlanta home and commercial swimming pools **Business Plug**. When we first decided to start a family we came to the decision that we did not want to do daycare... That being said we either needed to be in a position to reduce to a one income household or one of us had to work from home. I had recently just taken a new job so I did not feel comfortable taking myself out of the office so Trent decided that he could run his company and stay at home with our little one. We knew it was going to be a lot of up in the air scheduling and working different ways until something fit but we were up for the challenge...
In March our beautiful little girl was born and I was given 6 wonderful weeks alone at home with her. During that time Trent began his busy season for the pools. Not only was he training life guards for his neighborhood pools, he was also training a full time employee to do the daily service routes. Those six week flew by and the day came for me to go back to work. I thought it was so funny when people would ask if I was scared leaving my daughter with him... "He is the father" was always my response.
The first day back to work I didn't cry, worry or feel guilty... All feelings I thought I would feel. I felt blessed to know that our daughter was with her father and that she got to play at home with him all day.
I honestly don't know how he does it, here is a day in the life of Trent...
5:30 AM- Get up to go on his pool route (includes one or two of his commercial pools)
8:00 AM- Come home so I can get to work and he can stay with Sawyer.
8:00-5:00- Stay at home Dad + Running a company... he receives around 20-30 calls a day and 50+ emails a day. They are often on the move too, he takes her to the pool store, lunch with clients, and any emergency outings that occur. She is never around harmful chemicals and he makes sure she is number 1 priority.
5-9PM: He goes back out to do repairs or servicing. Some nights are shorter and some are longer depending on the job.
These two have a blast and not once has he ever complained that staying at home is a mom's job or that he has too much to do. There are days when my mom or his mom come to help but the majority of the time he is Mr. Mom and he does a great job at it. He even does the dishes and laundry on occasion;)!
I could go on and on but I will keep it short and simple... Thank you Trent for all you do, our lives would not be the same without you. And for laughs I added a picture of moms vs dads... hopefully he does not do this to our baby at home hehe...
