Top Ten Baby Must-Have Items

It has been 3 amazing short months since our daughter entered this world and we have been lost in our love for this tiny little being.  I still find it hard to believe that she is ours and God chose us to raise and love her.  Even though it has only been three months I feel like we have learned so much.   In reality we have no clue what we are doing and we spend most of our days praying we are doing the right thing.  We learned early on that no matter what the topic EVERYONE has their own opinion and they are all different.  Always be cautious when you resort to Google and take what strangers say with a grain of salt.  People can be cruel and negative and really just scare the crap out of you.  I find myself asking "how on earth did people raise children before the Internet" (sarcasm alert).  So with all that said I am going to share my personal opinion on the products that have saved our lives and are worth spending money on.  Some of these items are small and simple and others have been life savers.  Here we go, in no particular order...

1. Diaper Genie Diaper Dispenser: You can find this at Target using the following link http://www.target.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/p/diaper-genie-diaper-dispenser/-/A-14126365
This hooks right onto your diaper bag so you can pull a bag out to put dirty or wet diapers in while you are away from home.  The bags smell amazing so once you tie up the diaper you don't have to smell the dirty diaper anymore.  You can also buy the refill bags at Target.

2.  Waterproof Changing Pads: This is another Target find and they are amazing.  They come in packs of 3, I suggest getting 2 packs or more.  This allows you to keep the pretty changing pad cover dry

3.  Pacifier Clip: This item is a cute little accessory and it keeps the pacifier from dropping on the ground every time your baby spits it out.  I found mine at Buy Buy Baby but I know Target and small boutiques have these too.

4.  Boudreaux's Butt Paste:  Great for diaper rash, I use it to prevent diaper rash and so far we have had no issues.  This product comes in different sizes, I suggest having the larger size to keep at home and a smaller travel size to carry in your diaper bag.  The link is for Target but you can find this at any baby store, pharmacy or grocery store.

5.  Hand Sanitizer:  This is a must for a new mom.  I have four bottles spread out around our house, I may be a little over the top, but it makes me feel better knowing my hands are clean before I pick up my baby.  We live around family so our little one had a lot of guest, having this handy really helped ease my mind.  You can pick a bottle of this up at any grocery store or pharmacy.

6.  Pack-N-Play:  Before we had our daughter my husband asked me why we had to buy a crib and changing table, he said all we needed was a pack-n-play.  Well it turns out he was right.  We are three months in and all our LO has slept in is her pack-n-play bassinet.  Not only ca she sleep in it but it comes with a diaper change section too.  We got ours from Buy Buy Baby, start your search by clicking on the link below.

7.  Back Seat Car Mirror:  Since your baby has to sit rear facing having one of these really puts your mind at ease while you are driving.  We have one in my car and one in my husbands car.  Maybe we are a little over protective but I like to be able to look in my rear view mirror and check on my baby while we are out and about.  check out this one from Target, it plays music and has a night light for when you are driving at night.

8.  Mittens:  To prevent your LO from scratching their newborn face it is always good to have these handy.  You can find these at any baby product store.  I suggest having at least 5 or more.

9.  Medela Quick Clean Steam Bags:  Even if you are not breast feeding these bags are great to clean bottles, pacifiers and some toys.  It takes 3 quick minutes and all is sanitized.  I found mine at Buy Buy Baby, check the link below.

10.  Bibs and Burp Cloths:  We must go through 10 or more a day.  Maybe we have an excessive drooler on our hands but I think every new mom needs a huge stack of these.  I suggest cute ones because chances are they will be wearing them over their cute outfit.

Good luck with your new LO!  And remember I am not an expert just a new mom who has noted a few items I know we could not live without in our three month experience.  I know as she grows there will be other items, possibly another good blog topic, products your LO needs as they grow....
