Yesterday I decided I wanted to get a little creative with our boring coffee table. Trent purchased this when he was a bachelor living alone before we got married. Don't get me wrong it is a great piece of furniture but it lacks character. On my lunch break I went to Hobby Lobby to look around and that is when I decided I was going to spice up the coffee table. My plan was to have it done before Trent got home that night- he gets a little testy when I mess with his stuff- my thought is once its done its done, and he always likes the outcome he just puts up a fight to get there. I was not able to finish the project before he got home but I was able to complete this project before I went to bed. Total time was maybe and hour and a half of actual work- with a five month old and a hungry husband there was a lot of stop and start- play-family walk-dinner-then DIY project time. Here is how you can spice up your own coffee table at home...
~Supplies~
One Coffee Table
Poly Foam
Fabric
Scissors
Staple Gun
~DIY Step-by-Step~
1. Cut the poly foam to size- I left a little over each edge so I could make the sides soft and baby safe.
2. Cut the fabric to size- *Make sure the fabric is about a half inch to an inch over the poly foam.
3. Pull fabric tight underneath the table and begin stapling. I started in the center on the long end and worked my way to the corners. Make sure you pull it tight so there are no wrinkles or loose fabric.
4. Enjoy your new look...
